Royston Time Bank is offering opportunities for you to meet people and Royston Time Banks member participation is its strength. Their enthusiasm for the project is immense and the ideas just keep flowing. Our community cafe 'Time4You'(on the first and third Wednesday of the month from September) at the Coombes community Centre is well attended, featuring workshops successfully run by members. So far we have had card making, holistic therapy: reiki healing and indian head massage are very popular. One of our members provides life coaching and confidence building tips that are reported to be very helpful. Maria is our gardening expert and is keen to identify and suggest suitable garden plants for other members. She is also a trained florist and has run a fun and informative workshop at the cafe!
There are regular seasonal events such as the easter fun day and summer solstace mini pamper fest!! |

| Case Study |
|
The Royston Cave visit was organised by a time bank member, and attended by nine members. Saffron, aged 11 wrote a peice on her experience.
From the second I took first step into the narrow tunnel I knew I was surrounded by history from Royston's oldest townspeople. The ancient cave is carved with pictures of saints and holy people from he middle ages. The walls are covered in images of Jesus, his twelve apostles, St.Catherine, St.Mary and other holy legends. We were told about how the cave had been used for secret meeting of the Knights Templar and the meaning of the carvings. It was used as a dairy because it is nice and cool and the butter would not go off. I really enjoyed it because I love learning about history.
